Moy Castle
In a beautiful location on a rocky craig 
by the seashore, Moy Castle has a
hidden story behind it.
The MacLaines owned the property.
MacLean of Duart, desiring Lochbuie,
captured one of the MacLaines, and 
confined him on the Treshnish Isle
of Cairnburgh to prevent him from
producing an heir.....read

Moy Castle Doorway
Moy Castle Doorway
His only female companion was an
old, ugly woman who, however, he 
contrived to make pregnant. 
MacLaine himself was murdered, 
but the woman managed to escape,
and produce a son, who eventually
regained the property.
The castle was abandoned in 1752.

Scottish Castle Borve Castle
Located near Benbecula in the Outer 
Hebrides are the remains of a tower-house
 known as the Borve Castle, built in
 the 14th century by the clan MacDonald
Seen here under a full moon.

Eilean Donan Castle B/W
Eilean Donan Black and White
One of the most beautifully situated castles, 
Eilean Donan was built part in the 13th & 
14th centuries. Robert the Bruce was 
sheltered here in 1306.  In 1331, Randolph,
Earl of Moray executed 50 men here and
 adorned the castle walls with their severed
  heads.  During the Jacobite  uprising of
 1719, the castle was blown up from within 
by 3 frigates firing cannons.  Although
 ruinous, it was completely rebuilt in the 
20th century.
