Balquhidder Old Kirk
Balquhidder Old Kirk
 Balquhidder Old Kirk was built in 1631, and reconstructed
in 1774. The church is the burial place of the Chiefs
of the Clan MacLaren. A kirkyard with stones dating
back to the 17th century surround the Old Kirk,
including the grave of the Carnegies.

Rob Roys Grave
Rob Roys Grave
 In front of the ruins of Balquhidders Old Kirk, is the last
resting place of Rob Roy MacGregor, who died in
1734. Also buried beside him, is his wife and one
son. The other son is buried in front of Rob Roy's
gravesite. On the front of the monument marker
is carved "MacGregor Despite Them".

Dundrennan Abbey
Dundrennan Abbey
 The abbey was founded in 1142 at the personal
invitation of King David I.  Mary Queen of
Scots spent her last night on scottish soil
here, on May 15, 1568 before fleeing to
England to appeal  for assistance of her sister
in regaining her throne.
